Gateway Lodge.
Prince George, British Columbia.
NSDA Architects.
Canadian Wood Council BC Wood Design 2010 Award winner in the Institutional Category fort projects with construction projects over $10 million.
The jury comments noted the use of wood on the Gateway Lodge project in the social spaces, the community hall, building entrances, and garden pavilions helped to create a strong modern and materially expressive architectural aesthetic that reflects the uniqueness of the North Region, the local forestry economy and natural environment. The designers had used wood to full advantage to create a warm residential homelike environment for the elderly residents.
